Equipment Needed:

For first few classes all you need is a regular collar, a 6’ leash and lots of soft, high value treats. We strongly recommend that you use a bait bag to more quickly reward your dog. Tip: Treats are more valuable to a hungry dog!

After a few classes, you will want to have something for your dog to wear only while they are searching, such as a harness, greyhound type collar, or other large collar. You will also need a long line, between 10-15’. For large dogs a Palomine (aka biothane) line works well; for small dogs a paracord line works well.

Class Structure:

Only one dog is working at a time. Dogs that are not working wait in the car.

Dogs who don’t live together must stay at least 6’ apart.

Please come a few minutes early to potty your dog and sign in.

It is very helpful to watch other teams run, so when it’s not your turn, we highly suggest watching!

If you get to class early, we may still be setting up or running our dogs to test the hides. You are welcome to watch unless we have said otherwise but please do NOT bring your dog with you.
